How procedures work

What you need to know about a procedure’s form.

Duration is the length an appointment for this service is offered with. A new duration applies to the appointments booked from now on; those already booked stay as they are. Likewise, a new Price applies to the treatments added from now on, and the treatments already in a plan keep their price.

Dental care is exempt from VAT, and its price is what the patient pays. Purely cosmetic procedures, such as whitening, carry VAT: their price is written without VAT, and the VAT is added on the invoice.

Left empty, the Required Specialty field shows Any doctor: any doctor can do the procedure. With a specialty chosen, the procedure goes only to the doctors who have it in their window in The clinic team.

Place says where the procedure is done on the odontogram: on a tooth, on an arch, on the whole mouth or nowhere, like a consultation. Tooth Effect sets what the odontogram shows after the treatment, for example a crown or an extraction. For a tooth, Uses Surfaces asks for the surfaces treated, as for fillings.

Procedures are grouped in categories, for example Prevention or Endodontics. Categories are added and ordered in Configuration > Procedure Categories.
