How the SMS work

Appointments

Everyone

What you need to know about the SMS Digiodent sends patients by itself.

The SMS When it goes out
Appointments: Appointment changed as soon as you move the appointment to another day, time or doctor
Appointments: Appointment series changed as soon as you move a series of appointments; one SMS for the whole series
Appointments: Cancellation as soon as you cancel the appointment
Appointments: Reminder, 7 days before seven days before the appointment, at 10:00
Appointments: Reminder, the day before the day before the appointment, at 18:00
Appointments: Reminder, the same day on the day of the appointment, at 08:00
Appointments: Periodic checkup six months after the last visit, at 10:00

These days and times are the ones Digiodent comes with; the clinic’s administrator can change them, as well as the wording of each SMS.

The SMS go only to patients whose file has SMS Notifications ticked and a phone number, in the language chosen in the file, under Language. The cancel window says beforehand, under Patient Notification, whether the patient gets the SMS; when they do not, its button is Cancel Appointment, not Cancel and Send.

A patient who replies to an SMS with STOP, DEZABONARE or UNSUBSCRIBE gets no more SMS at that number, even if the agreement stays ticked. The patients’ replies appear in the appointment’s history.

A new appointment sends no SMS: the patient gets no confirmation, only the reminders before the appointment.

A new length is not a move: if you only drag the bottom edge of the appointment, the day and time stay the same, and the patient gets no SMS.

Reminders go out for appointments whose state is Scheduled or Confirmed, at most an hour after their moment. An appointment booked after that moment, for example three days before, gets only the reminders still to come. After a move, the reminders go out for the new day.

The invitation goes out after an appointment whose state is Done, if it is the patient’s last visit and they have no appointment ahead yet. Appointments of past days left open move to Done by themselves the next morning; a No Show appointment is not a visit.

The clinic sends at most five SMS an hour to the same number. An SMS over the limit does not go out and stays in the log with the state Blocked.

Moves and cancellations send an SMS only while Patient Notifications: SMS is on in Digiodent’s settings; the reminders and the check-up invitation go out even when it is off.
